Online Resources


Gale Courses offers over 350 online classes. What’s on your list to learn? Maybe you’d like to build up your business know-how, master a second language, or conquer code? Whatever it is, you’re bound to find something that piques your interest with Gale Courses. These classes are held entirely online, led by expert instructors and, best of all, free with your library card.

Select from hundreds of personal and professional development courses covering a variety of topics:

  • Business, including human resources, management, and marketing
  • Computer and technology (beginner to advanced)
  • Life skills, from personal finance to parenting
  • Health and wellness
  • Continuing education credits

While the sessions are six weeks long, the lessons are released twice a week—so you can keep up or catch up as the case may be. A new round of courses starts every month.

Gale Presents: Peterson’s Career Prep accommodates job seekers at all levels, whether they are entering the workforce for the first time or searching for new opportunities. Career assessments prompt personalized career recommendations and guidance on programs, knowledge, skills, and ability. Search for open jobs opportunities and create visually interesting résumés, cover letters, and websites that can be externally shared with prospective employers, using prebuilt templates.

Gale Presents: Udemy is an online learning platform for adults who want to improve work-related skills or further develop a personal interest. Users can search through more than 4,000 continuously updated, on-demand video courses across 75 categories in business, technology, design, and more. All courses are taught by world-class instructors and offer a tailor-made learning experience for those who want to learn new technologies and skills to stay competitive in a changing workforce.
